Rava Onion Dosa

Hotel Janatha near Sajjan Rao Circle is an old-timers paradise. You would go there for their two signature dishes – the “Onion Rava Dosa and the Khali Dosa.”

Here’s something you should know.

Hotel Janatha is not a hotel in its true sense. It is a restaurant. If the owners want it that way so be it.` It is a very old restaurant and you will notice no major renovation.

The cashier sits at the entrance, you have to pay cash and buy the food tokens. It’s a self-service restaurant and there’s no service to the table.

During the weekends and peak hours, you may be a part of a big crowd waiting for your orders.

Get your food and grab a table either in the main hall or in the tiny rooms near the entrance. Embrace some mosquito bites. I saw no repellants during my visit.

This is the famous Rava Onion Dosa and of course captured in Hotel Janatha.

Does it look yummy? Trust me, it tastes delicious.

If you are a fitness freak, you may not appreciate the amount of oil you will notice.

The coconut chutney and the vegetable sagu are a perfect combination to the Rava Onion Dosa.

Khali Dosa

Here they call it Khali Dosa. In some restaurants, they call it Sadha Dosa or plain dosa. At home, we simply call it dosa or dosai.

The flavorful coconut chutney compliments the Khali Dosa like a nut and bolt. I would say this is an authentic dosa! You will too appreciate the taste.

Other Menu Items

Hotel Janatha also dishes out food such as Masala Dosa, Vada Sambar, and Kesari Bath. But their signature dish is Rava Onion Dosa and Khali Dosa. They have maintained the taste and quality for several decades now.

Ambiance

Many customers feel nostalgic about the Janatha Hotel and they come here for the food. If it was for ambiance, you would see fewer customers.

You can park your vehicle opposite the Hotel Janatha. There is no dedicated parking for this restaurant.

In case you are craving for Masala Dosa, then you should go to Vidyarthi Bhavan. It’s a short drive from here.

But wait.

Pack some bakery items from VB Bakery. It is just a few steps away from Hotel Janatha.
