Vidyarthi Bhavan is one of the oldest and famous restaurants in Bengaluru. You get the best south Indian breakfast in this restaurant.
Vidyarthi Bhavan
Go there as early as possible and better don’t plan for brunch. I’m not sure till what time they serve breakfast.
Customers come here as early as 6 am and wait in line for their turn to grab their seats. I have waited for 40 minutes once.
If you are lucky you will get your seat immediately. Else, the average waiting period is about 20 minutes.
Note: This restaurant is closed on Fridays.
Best of Vidyarthi Bhavan
This famous restaurant in Bangalore has listed 8 items as their specialties. You should try all of them.
Here’s my order for the last visit:
Idli Sambar
The idli and sambar are a popular combination. I love the sweetish nature of the sambar and the softness of the idli.
Masala Dosa
Soft and crispy Masala Dosa. There’s masala inside (smashed potato). The masala dosa comes first and they pour the white chutney on the same plate. It happens only in this restaurant.
Karabath
Here too, Kharabath and chutney in the same cup. It’s a practice here.
Vada Sambar
Delicious vada sambar.
Even if Joe Biden comes, he gets no extra cup for chutney or sambar.
That was a joke. Try requesting them.
Coffee
I wouldn’t say coffee was extraordinary but it was good and too good to have with breakfast.
Parking
Don’t worry about parking. You will find one on the main road (look out for the parking board). Ensure you don’t do wrong parking.
That’s about the “famous restaurant in Bangalore.”
Other Options
Do you like Rava Dosa? Let me suggest Hotel Janatha. It is famous for Rava Onion Dosa and you should try that once. You can pack some bakery items from the most popular VB Bakery.
Hotel Janatha and VB Bakery are close by. You will have to use Google Maps to go there from Vidyarthi Bhavan.
